Mike Morgan, the protagonist, is a solid man, passionate about his job of discovering and salvaging shipwrecks all around the world. He’s built his life around the sea and, necessarily, whatever was not fully compatible with this choice just didn’t suit his way of existing. But Mike sounds like a happy man, going through continuous and sudden changes in his life: women coming and going, projections of past happiness coming back from time to time and the idea of a future true love, never known before and finally discovered.

The richness of this plot is, yet, not only offered by strong naturalistic descriptions which give such a feeling of strength. What makes this story complete is the presence of humanity, the close bound among friends who go out and live together their adventure and their dreams to the full.

"Silver Bubbles" is a funny and moving tale at the same time, with great erotic moments but full of deep love not only among men and women but also between humankind and nature.

What Peter Fergus has done in this book is to invent an existence and photograph his fictional man with his life and the passage of all the temporary elements in it. Elements leaving a mark but not changing the person.
